Volunteer Appreciation Dinner

The Managing Committee, Trustees and Office Bearers on behalf of the members of the community, held a program to appreciate and commend the efforts of the volunteers of the community.
On 15th April approximately 300 volunteers, ladies and gents, from ages 10 to 80, were in attendance for this program, the aim for this program was to allow all the volunteers to gather together and meet one another as well as to appreciate them.
The program started with the holy verses of the Quran by Br Ali Muntazir Sikiladha, thereafter the President of the Jamaat, Alhaj Mohamedraza M Dewji, gave a speech.
In his speech, the President of the Jamaat, was earnestly thankful to all the volunteers of the community, without whom this community would not run, he added that “the leadership of the community may sit in meetings and discuss matters but the entire community is run by the volunteers”, the lifeblood of the community is its volunteers.
The program continued with a short workshop that was engaging and provided many insights from the volunteers present, the workshop aimed to receive feedback on the challenges and motivations of volunteering, and the Jamaat aims to use these insights to ensure that the challenges are smoothened for the volunteers in their continuous support to the community. The workshop was facilitated by Br Muntazir & Sis Sajeda Fazal on the gents and ladies’ sides respectively.
The enlightening table discussions took place were a mix of volunteers from different sub-sections was done. All in all, a healthy way of interacting, motivating each other and identifying areas that may need some work.
In the end the volunteers were served dinner at their tables by the Managing Committee and Trustees of the Jamaat, where the leadership were honored to receive the opportunity to serve these esteemed volunteers.
It is no doubt that the volunteers who tirelessly and selflessly give their time and effort to the matters of the community deserve much more than what we can, their reward lies with Allah (SWT)
We pray to the Almighty (SWT) that he bless these volunteers and their families in this world and the hereafter in abundance, and that while in this temporal world we are all given the opportunity to serve in the cause of the Ahlul Bayt (AS).
Ameen
