The Husayni Madressa
Husayni Madrasah’s vision is to nurture students to become ‘Thinking and Practicing Muslims.”
We will continue enforcing the mission that began in our previous academic years which is to ‘Build acquaintance with the Holy Quran’ and in addition, the Madrasah is putting in more efforts to ‘make learning more inclusive’ in line with the objectives set out through the
Hadith from Imam Ali Ibn Al Hussein (AS): ‘Were people aware of what lies in the obtainment of knowledge, they would pursue it even though they had to make voyages and endanger their lives to obtain it.
We take these guidelines very seriously and strongly as they should be. We encourage you (Students and Parents) to read it thoroughly and return the consent page provided as part of enrolment process. This must be returned to the HMBS Office before 5th February 2021. The student will not be able to attend classes if this is not done.
In order to foster core Islamic principles of self-worth, self-discipline and moral conduct, HMBS has established rules and regulations. These enhance establishment of a good productive learning environment that allows effective learning and builds personality with the final goal of being the followers of the Awaited Savior (atfs).
Code of Conduct forms the basis of Akhlaq, hence, the HMBS follows the following system for students to accumulate rewarding points of good conduct or being penalized for bad conduct throughout the year. Each student will be awarded with 100 points to start the year. Points will be awarded or deducted as follows:
A student who abides to the code of conduct and has no offences at the end of every module will receive 5 points. Students obtaining 100% attendance with discipline at the end of the year will receive a special award.

|RULES ON QURAN RECITATION PROGRAM|
We must maintain a system and order to administer the program successfully. The following rules are necessary to make sure ALL students follow the process for successful administration.
|Student’s diary is maintained correctly with parents’ signatures and comments are presented in every needed class throughout the year.||5 bonus points for the year|
|Student comes to Madrasah on his Quran class day without his diary.||No marks (= 0) for the homework of the previous week|
|Student comes to Madrasah with his homework unsigned and parents’ comments missing. Homework must be done as part of coaching in Quran recitation.||One mark (1) will be deducted for that week|
|If a student is absent at Madrasah on his Quran recitation day without notification to the HMBS||No mark (0) for the homework of the previous week|
- The first page of the diary requires the signatures of two parents/guardians. Parents need to fill their signatures at the start of the year. This is to ensure integrity of the program and for security purpose.
- Parents are required to take part actively in the comments section of each week to display the follow-up of the parents on their child’s weekly Quran homework assignment.
- If a child forges a signature for the first time he will be awarded 0 marks for that week. If he is caught for a second time then he will be awarded 0 marks for the entire month. If he is caught for a third time then he will be awarded 0 marks for the entire module. Madrasah Management will contact the parents to assess the situation and explore remedies.
- HMBS MANAGEMENT RESERVES THE RIGHT TO AMEND THE RULES TO FACILITATE THE PROPER ADMINISTRATION OF THE PROGRAM WITH ADEQUATE CONTROL AND INTEGRITY.
The Husayni Madrasah Boys’ Section only caters for students from the age of 12 – 18 years.
Husayni Madrasah management takes the health of your child very seriously. In case that your child has any allergies or any specific medical condition, kindly let the management know of this at the beginning of the academic year. This can be done by specifying it in the registration form or emailing us at [email protected].
In case a student is sick and has attended madrasah classes, kindly inform us prior to be able to cater for his needs. If a student falls sick during madrasah classes, the student should inform the management office as soon as possible and the parent/guardian of the student will be contacted. The Madrasah is equipped with medical professionals and a first aid kit in order to give any first aid that may be required. In case of any emergencies, the child will be rushed to our community health center, Ebrahim Haji Charitable Health Centre and the parents will be contacted immediately.
FIRE AND EVACUATION:
Husayni Madrasah management ensures that each student has a safe learning environment. In the unfortunate circumstance that a fire occurs in the premises of the building, all students will be evacuated to the nearest assembly point. The assembly point being outside the premises next to Habib African Bank Limited.
Fire drills will be conducted during the year to ensure that all students and staff are well versed with evacuation in case of any incidence.
In case where a student would like to leave madrasah in the middle of the academic year, this needs to be informed to management in writing at least 1 (one) month prior to the date of leaving. This is in order to cater for any requirements (eg. Leaving certificate, handover to madrasah property, etc) the student may have. The management however urges parents to not let students leave in the middle of the academic year.
HYGIENCE AND CLEANLINESS:
The management recognizes the difference between Tahir and Najis and would like to ensure parents that a tahir and clean environment will be present for students to cater for their learning. The management urges the students to maintain the highest level of cleanliness and hygiene. This includes but is not limited to, clean and ironed khanzu, clean topi, neat and clean hair, clean nails etc.
The Madrasah Classes will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays & Saturdays.

The attached Annual planner highlights important dates and events of year 2021. These are very important and constitute madrasah holidays and other events and must be noted.
The Husayni Madrasahs of Dar es Salaam, with the grace of the Almighty, has completed the curriculum for Grades 7 – 10. These are published in text books that are loaned to students for their use during the year.
The Madrasah Academic team will now be reviewing the curriculum under the guidance of our scholars.
For classes 7 – 10, the 4 core subjects are; Qur’an/Akhlaq (Qur’anic Ethics), Aqaid & Fiqh (Islamic belief and law), Taarikh(Islamic History) and Qur’an recitation. Each subject consists of 3 modules and a module exam at the end. Each module carries 30%. For each subject, 10% of marks are allocated at the discretion of the teacher. This may include class participation, oral examinations, take home projects etc.
For Classes 11 & 12; each subject will have 2 modules weighing 50% each.
This modularized system aims to reduce the workload for the students at the end of the year. Students will not be examined on the topics of previous modules.
The Madrasah awards all students who achieve an A grade (above 81%) in their overall performance throughout the year.
At the end of the academic year, any student who fails two or more subjects will be required to repeat the class. Students in class 11 and 12 have to pass ALL subjects to qualify for promotion / graduation.
The pass mark for all subjects is 40%. Student will NOT be allowed to repeat a grade more than once.

We strongly encourage you (Parents) to attend these meetings for collective participation in the successful development of your child and the Madrasah.
