The Husayni Madressa

OUR VISION:
Husayni Madrasah’s vision is to nurture students to become ‘Thinking and Practicing Muslims.”
MISSION 2021:
We will continue enforcing the mission that began in our previous academic years which is to ‘Build acquaintance with the Holy Quran’ and in addition, the Madrasah is putting in more efforts to ‘make learning more inclusive’ in line with the objectives set out through the
curriculum.
POLICIES:
Hadith from Imam Ali Ibn Al Hussein (AS): ‘Were people aware of what lies in the obtainment of knowledge, they would pursue it even though they had to make voyages and endanger their lives to obtain it.
We take these guidelines very seriously and strongly as they should be. We encourage you (Students and Parents) to read it thoroughly and return the consent page provided as part of enrolment process. This must be returned to the HMBS Office before 5th February 2021. The student will not be able to attend classes if this is not done.
In order to foster core Islamic principles of self-worth, self-discipline and moral conduct, HMBS has established rules and regulations. These enhance establishment of a good productive learning environment that allows effective learning and builds personality with the final goal of being the followers of the Awaited Savior (atfs).
Code of Conduct forms the basis of Akhlaq, hence, the HMBS follows the following system for students to accumulate rewarding points of good conduct or being penalized for bad conduct throughout the year. Each student will be awarded with 100 points to start the year. Points will be awarded or deducted as follows:
A student who abides to the code of conduct and has no offences at the end of every module will receive 5 points. Students obtaining 100% attendance with discipline at the end of the year will receive a special award.

ANNUAL PLANNER:
The attached Annual planner highlights important dates and events of year 2021. These are very important and constitute madrasah holidays and other events and must be noted.
MADRASAH CURRICULUM.
The Husayni Madrasahs of Dar es Salaam, with the grace of the Almighty, has completed the curriculum for Grades 7 – 10. These are published in text books that are loaned to students for their use during the year.
The Madrasah Academic team will now be reviewing the curriculum under the guidance of our scholars.
For classes 7 – 10, the 4 core subjects are; Qur’an/Akhlaq (Qur’anic Ethics), Aqaid & Fiqh (Islamic belief and law), Taarikh(Islamic History) and Qur’an recitation. Each subject consists of 3 modules and a module exam at the end. Each module carries 30%. For each subject, 10% of marks are allocated at the discretion of the teacher. This may include class participation, oral examinations, take home projects etc.
For Classes 11 & 12; each subject will have 2 modules weighing 50% each.
This modularized system aims to reduce the workload for the students at the end of the year. Students will not be examined on the topics of previous modules.
The Madrasah awards all students who achieve an A grade (above 81%) in their overall performance throughout the year.
At the end of the academic year, any student who fails two or more subjects will be required to repeat the class. Students in class 11 and 12 have to pass ALL subjects to qualify for promotion / graduation.
The pass mark for all subjects is 40%. Student will NOT be allowed to repeat a grade more than once.
