WHAT IS FIDYA AND WHO HAS TO PAY:

FIDYA is a compensative payment against a missed fast during the Holy month of Ramadhan under certain circumstances. The following chart gives a better understanding of who is required to pay a Fidya.

Q: What if I was in one of the above categories last Ramadhan?

A: You are required to pay the Fidya before commencing the following Ramadhan.

Q: Can I pay Fidya in Monetary form?

A: No, you can only pay in the form of distributing the staple food to the deserving families. However, you may decide to choose an agent who you give the cash to, and they can then distribute on your behalf after purchasing the food.

Q: How much do I have to pay?

A: 750 grams of staple food e.g. wheat, barely, ect. per missed fast (30 fasts x 750 grams = 22.5 kgs)

HOW DO I PAY  MY FIDYA?

There are two options to pay your Fidya for the year 1442 (2021):

  1. You can pay at the DSM Jamaat Cash Office
  2. Send the money via masterpass on number 60484169 (registered in the name – KSI JAMAAT 3)

Example – Airtel Money:

  • Dial *150*60#
  • Choose option 5 – Lipa Bili
  • Choose option 1 – Lipa Bidhaa
  • Choose option 1 – Kwa MasterCard

3. Send a whatsapp on number 0713 990 727 specifying your name, amount sent and the number of fasts paid for, we will in turn send you a copy of the receipt.

Kindly make sure your NIYYAH to appoint Dar es Salaam Jamaat as your WAKEEL.

Pay the Fidya early so that it reaches the deserving families on time.
