There are more than 2000 ahadith regarding the last era.
The Dajjali culture has changed the definition of a house to a rest house, hotel, eatery, cinema hall, and so on
Islam lays great emphasis on the house.
Masjid: As per the hadith a woman’s masjid is her own house.
Ma’abad: Some other traditions define a house maabad as a place of worship.
The Holy Prophet SAWS said that for a man to sit in his house with his wife and talk with each other is more beloved to Allah than doing i’tikaf in masjid al-Nabavi.
Riyazat: House is a place for Riyazat (practice). If someone wants to attain Allah’s pleasure and wants to acquire ranks in Irfan, he must control his anger and be compassionate at his home.
Tarbiat (training): Rectify your faults and shortcomings.
Imam Sadiq AS said if you want to know someone then travel with him, make a deal with him or observe him when he is in a state of anger.
Islam has blessed women with a lofty prominent position in the family.
• If a momin’s connections and relationship with his Imam AS is not strong then his connection with Allah would also not be strong. Moreover, if there is no connection with wali-ullah then there is no connection with Allah.
• Holy Prophet SAWS said Ali AS and his successors are the truthful ones.
• The only way to acquire Allah’s pleasure and proximity is through wilayat. One can never acquire it until he follows the seraat (path) of Ali AS.
• Just like when iron enters into the fire and accepts all the properties of fire, similarly when a momin submits himself to the Hujjat/Imam then the characteristics of the Hujjat will manifest from him.
• Attaining any status in Irfan is only possible if we connect ourselves with the Divine Imams.
Imam Baqir (as) said Islam is built upon five: prayer, alms-giving(zakat), Fasting, Pilgrimage, and Walayah; and not one of them was proclaimed, the way walayah was proclaimed.
Namaaz is our connection with Alah
Zakat is our connection with the poor and needy people of the community
Fasting helps to practice and master the quality of being paient, which is required in daily life
Hajj is a symbol of unity
Wilayah is the guardian of namaaz, zakat, fasting and hajj that is the reason it is emphasized more.
There is no god but Allah is my fortress whoever chants this, enters my fortress and whoever enters my fortress shall be safe from my punishment.
Imam said Tauheed is completed by imamate.
Just like namaaz cannot be namaz without wudhu similarly Tauheed is incomplete without imamate.
Imam AS said if two qualities combine laziness and weakness in intentions in a person then the result is poverty
Scholars have defined Wilayat in three ways:
1. love and friendship • 2. Helping
3. Authority upon ourselves and this is the meaning of wilayat of imam
Imam is a guide that acts like a compass that guides towards the correct direction. A pseudo imam will lead people away from Allah.
If the direction is correct then every step taken will take us closer to Allah while if the direction is wrong then every step will take us away from Allah.
On the day of judgment, everyone will be standing behind their imam. If the imam was pseudo then none of their deeds would weigh.
In one of the ziarat recited in Samarah we say that the one who accepts the wilayat of Imam Mehdi AJTFS then:
○ All his deeds are accepted.
○ Whatever he says would be accepted.
○ His good deeds would be multiplied.
○ His bad deeds would be forgiven.
and the one who rejects wilayat if Imam Mehdi AJTFS then:
○ He would be thrown into hell.
○ None of his deeds would be accepted.
○ No Meezan (divine scale) for him.
Three major works that mujtahid have done in gaibat of Imam AJTFS
1. Revive the respect and honor of imams.
2. Revive their status and their right of being followed and obeyed.
3. Training to sacrifice self on the instruction of imam.
Mujtahideen are the ambassadors of Imam who direct us towards the Imam. Those who submit to the mujtahid will submit to Imam after the reappearance of Imam AJTFS.
Sayed Abdullah Al-Nakeeb is Iraqi and living in Australia, he has a BA in Med Science from the University of Western Sydney and a Degree in Islamic Theology under the guidance of Sheikh Mansour Leghaei. he is currently pursuing degree in Fiqh and the tafsir of the Holy Qur’an
There is an emphasis on the remembrance of Imam Hussain by every other Imam
Victory doesn’t necessarily mean winning the war, rather attaining martyrdom
We are not yet on the battlefield, rather on the journey to the battlefield
Allah (swt) gives so much reward for remembering Hussain who gave up everything for Allah. The world of Imam Hussain is a whole different world, he is a beacon of guidance and the ark of salvation
For the other imams, we may have to filter ourselves, and change ourselves to get on to their boats, but the boat of Imam Hussain is for everyone
The boat of Hussain (as) doesn’t wait for you to swim to it, rather it comes to pick. Today we don’t have swords, but our actions are the swords of our time.
Raising questions about fundamentals in Islam
We must make effort to learn and understand our deen, in order to be able to respond to questions raised
Holy prophet has emphasised different aspects in the learning of knowledge:
The two types of knowledge are:
The types of ignorance:
One day after prayers Imam Ali took Kumail and told him people are of three types:
1. Godly / holy / knowledgeable
2. A student on the path of salvation
3. People who follow where the wind blows
Knowledge then is what defines each of these categories
If the people against Imam Hussain (AS) knew him, none of them would be able to deny
Some of these people grew up with Imam Hussain,But for the love of worldly power and gains, they were against Imam Hussain (AS)
Some reasons why people don’t obey and follow Islam:
1. Personal interest
2. Pride
3. Ignorance
4. Hypocrisy
5. Blind Following
6. Propaganda
If our salaat is accepted, everything else is accepted, and if its not, then everything else will be rejected
Imam Jaffer Sadiq said : No one will receive our shafa’at if they take their salaat lightly
4 Levels of Negligence:
1. Not learning how to pray
2. Wondering about things outside Salah while praying
3. Delaying the Salaah
4. Not praying salaah at all
-The soul of salaat is the concentration and presence of mind in salaah
-What can we practice to improve our concentration;
1. Learn the meaning of what you say
2. Control your imagination
3. Hold on and learn from the companions of Aba Abdillah in relation to dua, Qur’an, Salaat and their Imam
The true nature of a horrible sin is that in fact it is itself disobedience to Allah
Imam Zainul Abideen AS has said, “Don’t look at the size of the sin, look at who you are sinning against
Traditions say:- there is no such thing as small sin with repetition, when you sin for the first time it’s like a boulder has dropped on you and you immediately feel guilty and repent
If you continue the same sin ,that boulder becomes small as you feel less guilty as before and soon that sin feels like a rock and pebble if you continue with it
Practical way we can begin to repent towards Allah (swt)
Imam Sajjad A.S has said;
We first perform ghusl intention if tawbah towards Allah (swt)
Pray salaat 2 rakat namaaz with intention of tawbah
Fast with intention of tawbah towards Allah (swt)
– Imam Zainul Abideen (as) :- “How can a person go to hell fire despite the mercy of Allah(swt) “This is the true hope in Allah (swt)
– Allah(swt) tells Prophet Mussa “Oh Mussa when my servant disobeyed, I kept him veiled from you , now that he has returned to me ,do you think I shall disclose him to you ?”
-There is always a path back to Allah(swt)
– If we master ourselves, there is nothing that we can’t achieve physically
-Master the major jihad, the minors becomes very easy
-Imam Ali :- “The health of your soul is certainty, the sickness of your soul is doubt”
Fitna is worse than killing.
In our communities we focus on issues such as doubts on Azadari, we should rather focus on strengthening our Usool beliefs which will bring us together
Do not forward a rumor unless you confirm it.
Who causes fitna:
1.Allah: to test you, hence upon passing you become a higher person in status.
2.. Shaytan: to divert you, telling humans to oppose Allahs laws like when he refused to prostrate to Adam.
3. Humans: to corrupt. Muawiyah brainwashed a whole community. eg: cursing of Imam Ali(as)
Imam Ali says fitna happens due to:
1.Desires: When people are onto achieving their desires only, then Allah will test them (fitna).
2. Situations when a people oppose the rules brought to us by the Prophet.
Death is something that everyone will come to encounter, regardless of their religion
We should keep our affairs in the correct order, so that we have nothing owing to do or settle when death comes to us
Sakaratul mawt for believers has some sins that God wants to purify, then the pain of death can be used to purify that person. So that barzakh and akhirah is good
And on the flip side, the disbelievers, may have a difficult or easy death
The questions in Barzakh asked by Munkar & Nakeer will not be replied by our tongues, but rather by our limbs and hearts
Whatever the heart has accepted is what answer that will be heard
The squeezing and expansion of the grave is not necessarily a physical issue, rather how we will feel during the questioning,
We will be resurrected how we lived in Barzakh, but in hereafter, we will be resurrected how we will die.
slam came as a complete religion and it has an answer for every trial in our lives.
We should not be of those that impose our beliefs on others, similar to how others shouldn’t impose on us.
4 types of tawassul agreed upon unanimously across sects of Islam:
1. Utilising names of Allah (swt)
2. Act of worship (such as sadaqah)
3. Ask a pious person to pray to Allah (swt) for you
4. Asking Allah (swt) in honour of a pious person (Eg: Holy Prophet)
The difference is in asking Allah through a person who is no longer on this earth
The followers of Ali should reply by asking the questioners, to prove otherwise, because the followers of Ali are on haq
Allama Hilli writes a book to explain all about tawassul academically,
However more tangible evidence, was that of dua, whoever asked through the Ahlulbayt, didn’t return empty handed
Mulla Razahussein Rahim is originally from from Dar es Salaam, he completed his Initial Islamic studies under his Father Marhum Mullah Mohammed Rahim followed by studies under various Ulama in Dar and UK, he was a Student of Alim Maulana Makbul Alavi of Qom for 15 years and has been Head of Islamic Cultural affairs of COEJ and assisting The World Federation External Tabligh in Europe. He is a previous President of Peterborough Jamaat and the current Vice Chairman of the Joint Mosques Council of Peterborough.
Importance and status the Azadar holds – and that salaams are sent for each Azadar from the heavens as well as the angels asking for istighfar for each and every Azadar.
The Ahlulbayt can take one to the right path – Swiratul Mustaqeem. Hence it’s important for us to remain connected to the Ahlulbayt.
Imam Khomeini when asked how did he maintain himself in peaceful manner despite going through difficulties.. his response alluded to the point that the Imam of our time is taking care of us.
Ahlulbayt are a cure for us and for all our grievances.
On welcoming the new moon of Muharram; On the sighting of the new moon of Muharram the 6th Imam (as) would express grief.
Ayatullah Behjet: When you’re going for the majlis of Imam Hussein, you’re going for the Ziyarat of Imam Hussein
The importance of our lives is in 2 days Ghadeer and Ashura
Ahlulbayt is the passport to Akhirah and the best wifi to connect to Allah.
When Allah sees the smallest bit of sincerity in the heart of a mumin, he will handle all of his affairs
Imam Ali: Sincerity is the highest stage of Imaan and the summit of faith
Imam Ali: Khutba 95: Keep your eyes on Ahlulbayt, don’t go ahead of Ahlulbayt. Do what the ahlulbayt tell you to do and don’t do what Ahlulbayt forbid. Follow the ahlulbayt
Azadari is the highest form of worship
Azadari is a BIG responsibility. It is such as the Holy Prophet on Ghadeer said to those present to convey the message to those absent.
Allah swt is the sole protector of the mesaage of Imam Husayn a.s
Sayed Hasan Nasrallah said a Shia is so honored as on one side is the red ring of Imam Husayn a.s and the other is the green ring of Imam Zamana a.s
Status of Salwaat: Imam Ali (as) in Nahjul Balagha: “If you want anything from Allah, recite Salwaat and then ask, acceptance is quick”
3 strengths of Shia community which fails all attacks: Mimbar, Scholars (Marjaaiat) & economic system (Khums)
Love has 3 main stages: Understanding the lover
Demonstrate (every action is done for the pleasure of the Ahulbayt)
Kamaal of Mawadah Ready to do anything for the lover (Ahulbayt) . – Imam Sadiq (as) says religion is nothing but love. Love for Allah, Imams and Ahulbayt.
Imam Redha (as) has said “Someone who has the love of the Ahulbayt within himself should consider himself as the richest man on this planet”.
The Holy Prophet (S) to Imam Ali (as);
“We are from the same tree. I (Holy Prophet (S)) am the root, You (Ali) are the trunk, Fatema (as) is the branch and Hasan & Hussein are the fruits and our Shias are the leaves”
Hur is an example that return and repentance to the Almighty is possible anytime in your life just that it has to be with good intentions.
Imam Redha (as) says the simplest method of getting your sins forgiven is Recitation of Salwaat as much as possible.
Imam Sadiq (as) “One who recites eulogy in honor of the Ahulbayt and makes other cry and he himself cries as well, the Almighty will forgive all his sins and grant him paradise”
Media is playing a vital role in shaking the beliefs of our kids. Parents need to play a vital role by ensuring the what their kids watch is appropriateOther religions and sects also sense the heat of the event of Karbala within their heartsKarbala is a university which teaches us a lot of lesson, one of them is True and loyal friendship from Hz.Habib bin Mazaher
Imam Ali (as) :-“Include friends in your life, who act as a mirror for you and sometimes a shadow”
he days of muharam are moving fast and the questions we need to ask ourselves is what have achieved in the first few nights and what changes are within us
Every member in the event of Karbala are the Ark of Guidance.
Our religion has emphasized a lot in regards to respect of Women.
Imam khomeni (RA) used to assist his wife in chores despite being a big political leader
Imam Ali (as) says there are three fundamental questions we need to ask ourselves constantly:
1. Where did we come from?
2. Where are we heading towards?
3. What is the purpose of our creation?
The status of the HolyProphet is higher ,no human being can be compared to him
‘Ans he honours whom he will ,and he disgraces who he will’
Whenever we are in trouble or difficulties we should always remember umul Baneen by taking out tasbeeh
3 things we here to ask ourselves
-where are you from
-where are you going towards
-what is our purpose
Imam Ali (as):- Ahlulbayt are the complete source of guidance
Hazrat Abbas always followed the footsteps of Imam Hussein till the very end
Imam Mohd Baqir says: Those who remember us and tear drops as little as a wing of a mosquito Allah builds for him a big house in Jannah, the tear is a barrier between the person and the fire of Jahannam
A message for youth: Youth can progress alot and have massive potentials but there are many evil Satanic forces.
Today the world is 1 connected global village, all good things come and all bad things simultaneously
The prophet used to pray to Allah to solve issues faced by his followers by the intercession of Imam Ali ibn Abitalib. This is the proof of tawasul
To become a successful human. We need to realize and ponder what our origins are?
We are self centered that’s why we aren’t able to be successful like Omar ibn Saad knew he’s fighting Hussain but he choose the world over religion
Ayatullah Behjet said that Imam Mahdi is in the heart of every momin and he said not to send Imam Mahdi away from us by our sins.
Every religion has the concept of Imam Mahdi who will remove falsehood in its totality and will bring truth and establish a global justice
Zakera Anjum Mukadam is from India and has studied in Mashhad at Madressa e Narjis Khatoon for 6 years. She was the vice head of Madressa Jafferiya (Mombassa) and founder of a Madressa in India. She is currently the head of Madressa in India and teaching Tafseer of Quran
Practical lessons from the school of Aba-Abdillah – Muharram is a time to revive our relationship with the Aimmah.
What does it take to reach the ranks of the companions of Imam Hussein (a.s)?
1. Faith in Allah (swt) [Imaan]
2. How they perceive the world
3. Making the right decisions and having the courage to give up desires
What is the extent of the Imam’s love towards his believers?
1. There is no sick believer whom the Aimmah don’t know about/feel for
2. When believers face difficulties, the Aimmah always know about their problems
3. As soon as a believer raises his hands for prayer, the Aimmah say ameen
4. As soon as a believer completes their request/dua, the Aimmah say ameen
The status of Azadar-e-Hussain is lofty. Imam Hussein (a.s.) mainly watches over His Zawwar and Azadar and for this reason, the responsibilities of a Mo’min increase as status increases
The Majlis of Imam Hussain is equivalent to that of Muzdalifa as both are a time of reflection and contemplation. It is a time to bring reform and change within ourselves and to cleanse our heart of bad qualities/sins
Furthermore, it is a time for Ma’rifa (awareness) where the believers strive to become closer to Allah (S.W.T) through Imam Hussain (a.s). These 2 months are a training period for our souls, thus we leave with a higher status and therefore more responsibilities
There should be no judgement towards the Azadaar of Imam Hussain (a.s) as we don’t know where each person stands. Furthermore, there are several forms of Azadaari and every individual has their own preference
Deep down, every person is going through a time of reflection and therefore the Majalis should bring a positive change within us as it is the best opportunity to repent and promise to bring real changes into our lives
There are 3 things that occur when you love someone:
1. You make an effort to learn more about them.
2. You talk about them frequently
3. You adopt their values
The last one is what is most important for the lovers of Imam Hussain (a.s.). Our love for him should bring a transformation within us
The driving force of the enemies of Ahlul Bayt in Karbala was love for the world. It is the root cause that gave birth to the events in Karbala and is the cause of every evil
Our goal in this world should be preparation for the Hereafter, however the greatest obstacle is attachment to worldly items. The more you consume them, the more they will consume you. Holding on to attachments will prevent growth in your life.
Expectations can be both good and bad. Bad expectations are the greatest cause of unhappiness in life. We should only have expectations from Allah as He is our only hope.
There is a purpose and reason for everything in life and the purpose of our creation is to acquire excellence
The reality of life is that the Hereafter is our permanent abode, not the Dunya. Thus we must try our best to remove the attachments of the world from our hearts. This Dunya should be used as a stepping stone for the Akhira

The last one is what is most important for the lovers of Imam Hussain (a.s.). Our love for him should bring a transformation within us
The ability to strike a good balance between Deen and Dunya will be our salvation in both worlds. Oftentimes we put the Akhira at stake due to the Dunya however, this should not be the case

The Holy Prophet was gifted 4 things; patience (sabr), contentment (ridha), detachment from a materialistic lifestyle (zuhd) and certainty (yakeen). After acquiring all 4, the final level is Tawakkul – Full trust in Allah. We first need to strive for the first 4 qualities as Tawakkul can only be reached after fulfilling all other qualities
• Sometimes Allah (SWT) gives us struggles to allow us to learn these qualities and to make us realize that we have something to be grateful for
• Each person gets at least one opportunity for repentance in their lifetime. Every Farsh-e-Azaa is an invitation for us to become like Hurr i.e a blessing/opportunity to change ourselves
• The word Tawba means to return to Allah (SWT). If one repents sincerely, Allah (SWT) will elevate his position
• There are 3 things that distance us from Allah (SWT):
i) Performing wajibaat slowly
ii) Doing haram quickly
iii) Ingratitude
• The one thing that can bring us closer to Allah (SWT) is His infinite mercy
he right type of friendship is a gift that can change you/your life for the better and can remove troubles and loneliness. Imam Ali (AS) says a person is rich if he has good friends
• Loneliness/isolation is not always a bad thing because sometimes we need the extra space to find God in our lives. When Imam Musa Kadhim (AS) was imprisoned, he took the opportunity to do more Ibada saying, “There is no one here but myself and my Lord.”
• Imam Ali (AS) says, “When you extend your hand in friendship towards a person, create a grave in your heart where you hide/bury all their faults from other people.”
• A bad friend is compared to a snake. A snake can poison you with one bite, resulting in the deterioration of your health. Similarly, a bad friend can contribute to the deterioration of your Imaan
Timeline of Bibi Zainab’s (AS) life: She spent 5 years of her life with the Holy Prophet (SAW) and Bibi Fatema (AS), 30 years with Imam Ali (AS) and 10 years each with Imam Hassan (AS) and Imam Hussein (AS). After the events of Kerbala, she lived another 1 ½ year
• Zainab has 2 meanings; a fragrant flower or beauty of her father
• 2 of the most important Khutbas delivered in Islam are Khutba Fadakiya by Bibi Fatema (AS) and Khutba of Bibi Zainab (AS) in Kufa
• 70 years of the Umayyad Dynasty collapsed due to Bibi Zainab’s (AS) powerful oratory skills resulting in the reformation of 4000 people
• Bibi Zainab (AS) is the pioneer of Majlis e Hussein
• “Tell my shias not to forget and to teach their children 2 khutbas – Khutba Shiqshiqiyyah and Khutba Damishq.”
• Marriage (choosing a spouse) is as important as friendship (choosing a friend)
• Some questions for those who are looking for a spouse: Are you psychologically and spiritually prepared for marriage? Do you have the same qualities that you are looking for in others?
• Social media is not a source for spouse selection but can be used as a channel

Imam Hussein (AS) forgiving Hurr is a perfect example of having Hope in God’s mercy
• The first Ghuna Kabira is shirk as mentioned in Surah Luqman where it is described as dhulmun adheem. Losing hope in Allah’s mercy is also considered Ghuna Kabira
• When God loves someone, their life is never smooth. Allah (SWT) tests the Mo’min with various trials to bring them closer to Him. An example is that of Prophet Yunus in the belly of the whale
• How to reignite/instill hope in your heart
1. Gratitude (Shukr) – Health, Imaan, Wilayat
2. Love – Treat each other with love and kindness
