THE AUTHENTICITY OF THE SAHEEFA:
Even the Sunni scholars have acknowledged the fact that unlimited, unlisted numbers of sciences have been explained by the Imam, thus ranking Saheefa as very authentic by the specialists in the science of hadeeth who maintain that the text is mutawatir i.e it has been handed down by numerous chains of transmission.
According to Shiite traditions, Imam Sajjad (as) collected his supplications and taught them to his family, particularly his sons, Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (as) and Zayd.
These supplications over time became widely circulated among all Shia Muslims.
Different subjects like Maw’idha, Dua, Qur’an, History of Battles, Halal and Haram, etc, are addressed proving the caliber and depth of duas that can only be attributed to the Imam.
THE EXEMPLARY IMAM, AL-SAJJAD (as):
Both Muslim and non-Muslims writers have attested to the position of the Imam as being pious, knowledgeable and excellent in his character. Popularly known as “Zayn al-Abideen” {the gem of the worshippers} for the intensity in his worship towards Allah (swt). Only such a personality can write such masterpieces that authenticate themselves as not ordinary human’s work but from a divine leader.
Dua is the expression of what the mind thinks; here the Duas and Munajaat show the true personality of the 4th Imam.
Iman Ali (as) in Nahjul Balagha says, “Man is hidden behind his tongue. When he speaks his true personality is known”.
