Fundamentals of Growing Your Business
The Economic Empowerment Committee under the leadership of Al Haj Gulamhussein Bhai Kermalli has continued to support the community in areas of business loans, training sessions and building support systems for small and medium business enterprises.
During the last six months, the EEC conducted two main training sessions for the benefit of the community.
In November 2022, a programme titled “Fundamentals of Growing Your Business” was facilitated by Aashiq Bhai Shariff, Managing Director at Echo Tanzania and Founder at 78inc. This programme targeted members who are looking at starting up a business or a small business enterprise and those wishing to take their business to the next level.
The Fundamentals of Growing Your Business programme aimed to provide valuable insights and practical guidance to achieve business goals. The session was designed to be interactive, engaging, and informative, and covered key topics such as market research, product development, customer acquisition, financial management, and business growth strategies.
Aashiq Bhai, a seasoned entrepreneur and business leader, shared his personal experiences, challenges, and successes in growing and managing businesses.
He provided practical tips and strategies for overcoming common challenges faced by small business owners, and for driving business growth.
The programme was well received by the participants, who appreciated the practical and actionable advice provided by Aashiq Bhai. The participants found the session to be highly informative, inspiring, and beneficial for their businesses.

Money Management Workshop
In December 2022, the Economic Empowerment Committee facilitated a workshop titled ‘Money Management’ which was led by Tanzania’s leading experts, Aliabbas Bhai Nasser and lady Happiness Watimanywa. The purpose of the workshop was to educate and empower employed and self-employed participants to make informed financial decisions to achieve their financial goals.
This two-day workshop with 46 participants focused on sharing strategies, techniques and practices for managing finances effectively. The workshop also covered topics such as budgeting, saving, debt reduction, investing and financial goal setting. This was conducted through interactive activities, group discussions and case studies and presentations to help participants understand and apply the concepts of money management.
At the end of the two days, the participants were awarded their certificates by the President, Al Haj Mohamedraza Bhai Dewji for successfully taking part in the workshop.
