Development Society Updates
The Development Society in collaboration with the marriage committee of the KSIJ and the Africa Federation Tabligh Board organized a marriage seminar on 29th January 2023. This marriage seminar was facilitated by Sheikh Safder Razi. This event was kept for both gents and ladies. During the event Sheikh Razi presented different aspects of spouse selection as well as a readiness assessment and gave an opportunity for participants to give their thoughts to know their expectations as well as clarify their questions and concerns. The main objective of the event was to give guidance to marriageable youth on marriage and to answer their questions.
This event was a success as we had a crowd of 27 participants most are marriageable youth or will be approaching marriage in the next 1 – 2 years. This event provided clarity about marriage and educated them on the purpose of marriage, how to choose their spouses as well as answer their questions and concerns (e.g. on Istikhara).
“YCB should plan more events like these in the future to help our marriageable youth so that the marriages in our community become more fruitful and godly.”
My Place in Modern Days In Islam
On the 22nd of January 2023, a baraza event on the topic “My Place in Modern Day Islam” took place with the goal of educating its participants on modernity and its impact on Islam and Muslims. The discussion was led by Sheikh Razi in a casual environment as he divided the participants into groups so he could get their perspective on the concept.
Overall, the committee believes the event was a success based on the feedback from the participants who said that they enjoyed the lecture and would prefer a similar lecture in the future however with a more detailed view on this concept.
Mothers Day Sale
The main objective of the event was to sell gifts that individuals can buy for their mothers on the auspicious occasion of the wiladat of Bibi Fatima (a.s) and use the profits earned from the sales to fund DS events for the year.
Sales were hosted of items ranging from perfumes to flowers, food items and a range of unique gift items as well as a Cake Auction.
Alhamdulilah we managed to sell out a lot of items and spread happiness on the auspicious occasion and also making a significant profit to fund upcoming DS events
