Salmaan was born in 2005 and currently lives in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. He comes from a family of 6, being the 1st son and the 3rd born out of 4 siblings. He has 2 older sisters, both married and living abroad, and one younger brother in middle school. He lives with his father, mother and younger brother in Dar es Salaam.
Salmaan has studied at Dar es Salaam International Academy since Grade 1 under the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme. He recently finished the IB Diploma Programme (equivalent to A-Levels) in 2023 with a high predicted score of 40 IB points. His subjects were (Higher Level) Business Management, Geography, Mathematics; followed by (Standard Level) Chemistry, French B and English A: Language & Literature. He graduated from the Husayni Madrassah in 2022 as the Student of the Year from the graduating class.
He plans to pursue his passion in business by attaining a Bachelors in Business Administration (BBA) at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada starting this September. With the grace of Allah (swt), he plans to pursue an entrepreneurial career by exploring various avenues & sectors, particularly sustainability within agribusiness and tourism.
Salmaan is a part of different organizations in the community, to which he volunteers his time. With Who Is Hussain, he supports the annual eye camps, blood drives and other events in Muharram and Ramadhan. With the Development Society (DS), he spent 3 years in the Knowledge Subcommittee while he was a student of the Madressah, organizing knowledge bulletins and awareness events. While currently not an active part of it, he often volunteers his time to DS. Salmaan has also shared his public speaking skills as the host of various events such as the Milad Fun Fair (2022), Careers Hub Career Carnival (2021) & In Conversation with Sayed Ammar Nakshwani (Ep 2 – 2021). Additionally, he taught as a Maalim in the junior boys Darsa programme this Ramadan.
His greatest hobby is playing international volleyball. He was Captain for his schools U18 Boys Volleyball team in 2022-23 and plays the sport regularly for recreation. He also enjoys playing other sports with friends in his free time.
