Camper Diary
We started off the day with a tiring Earth Building class where we got to get our hands dirty and build actual rocket stoves. The activity was super fun and we really enjoyed it.
We had some classes with some of the mentors who taught us a bit about how to control our anger and emotions, and how being stoic can help us develop into better young men moving into the future.
The sports activities were also super fun. Capture the Flag was a little difficult and really competitive but at the end of the day, it was good practice for collaboration. We also played some football, cricket and pool volleyball too.
The seniors debate at PDT time was very close too. It was a tough debate for even the audience to decide who won.
Tomorrow we’re going to go to Stone Town. We’re really excited to learn about the spices of the world on our spice tour and go shopping with our friends and mentors in the afternoon.
Mentor Diary
The day began with our familiar routine, and to our delight, the kids now require no more than three gentle prompts to awaken and heed the call to prayer.
We had 4 classes in the morning with seamless transitions. During class breaks, we held a baraza over the refreshments.
As the afternoon unfolded, we embarked on exhilarating activities that pumped adrenaline through our veins, including capture the flag and water polo. The climax of the day arrived when the campers playfully tossed me into the pool!
After a savory dinner that satisfied our stomachs, we decided to put the seniors’ debating skills to the test, challenging them with thought-provoking questions from our side as well.
The day wrapped up with card tables like Cover your Assets and UNO. These delightful moments were complemented with loads of chocolates, creating an atmosphere of shared delight.
It is a God granted gift to be able to witness the campers’ constant growth and development.

Assalamu Alaikum to all campers,
I hope you are all doing well. I would like to express my gratitude to Brother Zishan Somji and Brother Sadiq Datoo for their tremendous efforts in supporting our community’s youth. It is not easy to send our children away for an extended period, but it is crucial for our boys to learn socialization skills.
Zain, we miss you dearly and eagerly await your return. Your happiness brings me joy, and your sadness deeply affects me. I send you countless wishes and prayers for your well-being.
May Allah always protect you, my shining star.
Salaam alaikum Hussein mawji,
Hope you are keeping well, and your spirit is up as usual.
We hope you are having fun, but at the same time, learning all the aspects that the organisers have done. From basic knowledge to scientific knowledge to Religious knowledge. To be successful, you need all types of knowledge.
Salaam Salmaan and Maahir,
Hope you’re both well!
We are sure you both are having a blast exploring Zanzibar, making unforgettable memories, and conquering new challenges together.
We’ve missed you dearly but are thrilled to know that you’ll be back in just two days!
Can’t wait to hear all about your exciting adventures and escapades.
We’ve already started planning a special homecoming feast, filled with your favorite dishes. There’ll be stories to share, jokes to crack, and fond memories to reminisce about.
Always remember to thank the Almighty for his blessings and remember to take the next couple of days to enjoy the great outdoors to the fullest. Breathe in the fresh air, appreciate the beauty of nature, and soak in all the peace and tranquility it has to offer. But also, be mindful of safety and look out for one another, as you always do.
Safe travels on your way back! We eagerly await your return, with hearts filled with love and excitement.
See you soon
With love and duas,
Mom & Dad

Salaam Alaikum! Last day at camp! We cant wait to have you home again, especially since we don’t know where you hid Farhaan’s football cards. we have looked everywhere for them and cant find them. I hope you’ve had an awesome time at the camp, and can’t wait to hear all your stories. I don’t know if I’m more excited to see you or papa tomorrow…(its you really, don’t tell papa!)
Have a good ferry ride home, and its your last chance to do lots of masti, so get it out of your system with the mentors so when you come home all the masti is finished!
Love you lots and lots, and miss you even more

Dear Mentors
I would like to say a big thank you to you all. From the pictures its evident you have all put in so much effort to participate in all the activities with the boys and make it fun for them. I am so grateful for you bringing Islam to life for the kids. You all must be so exhausted! And that is a good sign that you’ve given it your all.
Remember the journey of mentorship has just began. These young men will look up to you for years to come, and you have an amazing opportunity to guide and be there for them from such an impressionable age. Good luck to you
Once again, a big thank you! Now that the camp is almost over I think its time you threw Sadiq Uncle and Sheikh Zishan into the pool to show how grateful you are to them!!
