We hope this letter finds you in the best of health and high spirits. On behalf of the entire team at the KSIJ Dar es Salaam Boys Residential Summer camp – Zanzibar 2023, it is with great pleasure that we extend our warmest greetings to you and confirm your attendance at this year’s camp.
We are delighted that you have chosen to join us for what promises to be an unforgettable experience. Our team has been working diligently to organize an enriching and exciting program that caters to all aspects of your growth and development. From Islamic studies to a wide range of sports and extra-curricular activities, we have carefully curated an itinerary that offers a holistic experience. We believe this Summer camp will empower you to become a well-rounded Muslim and a positive force within your community.
In addition to the Islamic studies component, we have an array of sports and extra-curricular activities planned to foster teamwork, physical fitness, and personal growth. Our aim is to provide a diverse range of activities that cater to your interests and talents. Through these experiences, we hope to cultivate your leadership skills, promote healthy habits, and encourage you to step out of your comfort zone.

Dear Parents,
We are delighted that your son has chosen to join us for what promises to be a truly holistic experience. Our team has been working hard to put together a stimulating and entertaining program that addresses all areas of development and growth. We have a carefully planned agenda that offers a comprehensive experience ranging from Islamic studies to a wide choice of sports and extracurricular activities.
At the Summer Zanzibar Camp, we prioritize creating a safe and inclusive environment where campers can forge lifelong friendships and create cherished memories. Our dedicated staff will be available around the clock to ensure your child’s well-being and address any concerns that may arise during their stay.
Thank you once more for letting your child attend the Residential Summer Camp. We are overjoyed to have them join us, and we anticipate a summer full of learning, fun, and shared experiences.
Camp Objectives
- To provide a welcoming and enriching environment for learning about Islamic principles and etiquette.
- To engage in diverse sport activities to foster the exploration of new interests and skills.
- To strengthen the practice of positive Islamic habits in daily life.
- To cultivate self-discipline, team spirt and confidence through various activities and experiences.
- To empower and instil confidence in youth to equip them with the necessary skills to tackle challenges when studying abroad
- To instil Islamic values such that Akhlaq is at the forefront of everyday life.

Classes & Activities
Classes at the camp will be two-fold.
The first set of classes will be interactive discussions delivered either by a member of Admin, a mentor or a visiting teacher. All topics are identified prior to the camp. All the topics are handpicked with the aim of instilling ilm, practical guidance and in order to meet the overall camp objective of personal development.
The second set of classes will be hosted by the campsite and will include hands-on learning including permaculture and survival skills,
Excursions / Sports / Team Building
Excursions at the camp will include a tour of Stone Town and a visit to our jamaat for Juma. Other excursions may include a cave tour, a visit to the Jozani Forest and a short boat trip to a near by sand bank.
Sports and Team building are integral to the camp. Mentors are in charge of different sports, coaching the ones they excel in.
Team building exercises such as capture the flag will be organised alongside recreational sports such as cricket and football.
Things to Pack
Here is list of things you will require for your stay.
There will be NO clothes-washing facilities at the camp.

Safety
- Each Group of 10 campers is directly supervised by 2 Mentors
- Parents will be contacted immediately in the event of an emergency
- All precautions are taken in any activity to ensure that it is carried out safely
- Buoyancy Aids/Life Jackets are compulsory during water based activities
- There will be verified security onsite, 24 hours a day
- A CPR trained official will be present at all excursions.

Parents will be able to leave messages on the website for their children that will be read out during our evening activity.
