Guest Speaker to DSM – Sayyid Aliraza Rizvi

Maulana  Syed Ali Raza Rizvi is a great scholar and Aalim-e-Deen. He was born in Lahore, Pakistan and raised in Birmingham, UK. His intial religious education began in

Birmingham. Then he moved to Qum for higher education. He has spoken around the world in more than 30 countries.

He studied in Hoza-e-Qum of Iran for several years and graduated in 1998 with dual Masters in Islamic Studies and Arabic. He has written and translated several books in English. Some of those are: Kitab al-Tawhid by Shaykh Saduq (the Book of Divine Unity), Introduction to Islam, Islamic Laws.


Syed Ali Raza Rizvi recited majalis in Urdu at the Imambargah from 16th night of Ramadhan 1439 to 26th night of Ramadhan 1439. He also was part of many other programs organized by the Jamaat, ie. Volunteer Appreciation and Inter-faith Iftaar as one of the speakers.

Sheikh Jehad Ismail visits DSM

Sheikh Jehad grew up in Kuwait and migrated to Australia where he completed a BA degree in Interpreting and Translation. After university he decided to go and pursue religious education, and chose Al-Azhar university as his place of studies, having been born to Sunni parents. After graduating from the faculty of Da’wah and Usool he returned to Australia and began his Tabligh work. After reading so much literature about the Shia School of Thought, he decided to convert and went to Qum to modify his religious studies in accordance to the School of Ahlul-al-Bait. Sheikh Jehad held a number of government and non-government positions, the main one being an official government Interpreter/Translator in the Australian court system. He is currently working as a Religious English Instructor at Arrahman mosque in Sydney where he resides with his wife and children.

The KSIJ of DSM were fortunate to have him as a guest speaker for the first 15 night of Ramadhan 1439.

KSIJ DAR Youths Recognized

The Managing Committee of KSIJ DSM appreciated Youth of the Community during the Wiladat of Imam Ali (AS) and Imam Husayn (AS). These youths were chosen for their services to the community in various fields.

Inauguration of Mrs Raziya Bai Janmohamed Hall

The Tabligh Board under the guidance of Alhaj Noorali Somji, member of Board of Trustee (2016-2018), managed to convert a terrace at the top of the Tabligh Building to a fully-functional multi-purpose hall.

The hall was then dedicated and named after Raziya Bai Janmohamed (wife of Gulamabbas Janmohamed), due to here immense contribution to the Madrasah and Tabligh for the past 30 plus years.


Youth Interactive Session

On Wednesday, 24th January 2018, the DSM Jamaat were honored by the presence of the well renowned scholar, Sheikh Nuru Mohamed.
DSM Jamaat organized an interactive session with the Sheikh which was highly appreciated by the youths as they needed a open forum to present their queries.

Uhuru Street Project – Ground Breaking Ceremony

On the auspicious occasion on the birth anniversary of Lady Zainab binte Ali (AS), 5th Jamadal Ula 1439, 23rd January 2018, the DSM Jamaat hosted the Office Bearers of Africa Federation along with AFED Housing Committee and members of the community to witness the ground breaking ceremony of the Uhuru Street Project.

The Social Service Committee (SSC)

The Social Service Committee (SSC) of DSM Jamaat took an initiative to register all the senior ladies with the NHIF Insurance. This has helped in reducing a significant amount of Jamaat funds in the medical section.

Dar es Salaam Volunteers Recognized

On the 29th night of Mahe Mubarak Ramadhan, the Dar es Salaam Managing Committee recognized all the volunteers of different fields for their sincere service to the community.
